What qualities are needed to work in Early Years settings?

One of our recruitment consultants was asked today 'What qualities are needed to work in Early Years settings?' and we thought it would make a really useful blog topic for candidates.

Having been a specialist Early Years recruitment agency providing candidates with nursery jobs since 2009, we pride ourselves on knowing what nursery settings require.

That also includes providing the very best candidates for nursery roles across the South West, to ensure that our clients and candidates are both happy.

When it comes to working in Early Years settings in Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Weston, Clevedon, Portishead, Bath, Exeter and Taunton the main qualities we see in our candidates are:

Patience

Organisational skills

Positive attitude

Enthusiasm

Communication skills

In addition, we usually ask for an Early Years qualification as well as a passion for working with children.

We would expect to see evidence of previous experience to highlight a candidate's desire to work in the Early Years sector across the South West.

Working in the Early Years sector is demanding and challenging, but also incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.

Our candidates give us consistent feedback about how much they enjoy working with us and the settings we provide for them across the region.

Working in nursery settings can be either full-time, part-time or temporary contracts, and we cater for our candidates' requirements when placing them.

Any candidates looking to work with an Early Years recruitment agency should expect the following level of service.

We are always available to have an informal chat with new or experienced nursery job candidates and can be reached on 0117 930 4000 or by visiting here.
