As a Deputy Manager you would work alonsgside the Nursery Manager to provide high-quality care, education and a safe environment for children, supporting daily operations and ensuring compliance with the EYFS and Ofsted standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing nursery operations, supervising staff, ensuring child safety and welfare, managing children's development through play and learning, and building partnerships with parents. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, often involving deputizing for the manager and actively participating in the day-to-day running of the nursery. This role may be based within a room with supernumary responsibilities to offer support to the manager when needed and to step up in the absence of the nursery manager to run the setting.

As a nursery manager you would oversee the setting, focussing on creating a safe, stimulating learning environment for children and supporting staff. Key responsibilities include managing budgets and finances, recruiting and training staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and Ofsted standards, maintaining parent relationships, and driving high-quality childcare and education. The role is diverse, requiring knowledge of early years curriculum (like the EYFS framework), safeguarding, and strategic management.
